Finding Your Voice in Your Birth Space

What does finding your voice even mean? Well, it means many things:

  • Confidence in declaring your wishes
  • Owning your power
  • Commanding your birth space

Confidence in declaring your wishes
Learning what you’re options are, and choosing your preferences before labor starts is the #1 way to be confident confident while speaking to your provider about what you expect to happen no matter what happens during birth.

You’ll want to make sure you have a plan A, B and C. Using a program like [M]otherboard makes the process much easier by laying out all of your options with evidence based information about each, and a beautiful app that allows you to put together your birth plan wherever you are on any device you have access to.

Get the app for free ($50 value) with a birth planning session with me!

Owning your power
This is the best part. Being confident in your choices is only one part of owning your power. Owning your power means taking 100% responsibility for your choices in pregnancy and birth.

For example, if you decide you want a non medicated vaginal birth, owning your power looks like takomg care of your body, choosing your birth team consciously, and otherwise walking the walk.

Commanding your birth space
Gaining your confidence and owning your power will naturally lead you into being able to command your birth space.

Labor and delivery is the one time in most birthers lives that they give themselves full permission to be completely vulnerable and not only expose themselves physically, but emotionally as well.

An excellently chosen birth team will protect your space while you transcend into this unknown territory. I will say, anyone who has any respect for birth will be absolutely humbled by you and will in no way attempt to intervene unless you request it or your birthing energy is being disturbed.
